Ghana is scheduled to participate in the West African Canoe Kayak Championship which will be held in Cote d'Ivoire in October. The championship is expected to draw participation from countries within the sub-region, this will be Ghana's first ever appearance at such an important international competition. Chairman of the Ghana Rowing and Canoe Association MR Jonathan Tackie-Komme,confirmed this to GNA Sports on Wednesday when He presented equipment worth 11,500 Pounds Sterling to the National Sports Council (NSC) in Accra. Made up of 26 Canoes and 30 paddles, the equipments were donated by the International Canoe Federation (ICF), headquartered in Switzerland, to promote and develop the sport in the country. As part of efforts towards putting together a formidable team for the event and future competitions, Hon.
